When the aircraft is stranded, time gets wasted in predictable places: missing records, unclear authority, bad parts visibility, slow approvals, and vague communication between the operator, the service provider, and the people paying the bill. Authority matters just as much as technical information. Every operator should know who can approve troubleshooting, who can approve a quote, and who can approve additional findings if the scope changes after the aircraft is opened up. A lot of downtime comes from simple silence. The technician is waiting on approval. The operator is waiting on a cleaner explanation. The owner is waiting on budget context. Meanwhile the airplane is still parked.
Access to records is another common weak spot. Digital access helps, but only if it is complete and current. A half-organized system is better than paper in a box, but not by much.
Build an AOG contact chain that works at 2 a.m.
